Upcoming Meeting

Cyber Citizenship Initiative

Please register for a virtual meeting/webinar taking place on Friday, August 20, 2021, 12:00 to 1:00 pm.

Join in the SIS August meeting to learn from Project Team Member for Cyber Citizenship Initiative Dr. James Welsh.

Dr. Welsh is the director of the Florida Center for Instructional Technology. James has taught classroom technology integration to undergraduate and graduate students at USF and professional development courses to educators through USF's iTeach Professional Learning. His research interests include evaluation of educational technology, critical media literacy, and student creation of multimedia texts.

The Cyber Citizenship Initiative was formed through a partnership between New America and the Florida Center for Cyber Security - (also known as Cyber Florida).

In 2020, a new project was launched called Cyber Citizenship giving individuals online the knowledge and skills to check and verify the information coming across their screens, critically inquire about and seek evidence about what they are consuming, and create and share media messages in ways that advance dialogue and civil discourse.
