PROGRAM:

Please join us on Thursday, June 7th at the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg to explore the museum, learn about the Dali Library archives, and enjoy the company of your fellow Information Specialists! This meeting is more of a social event with both members and guests welcome.

The Dali library holds over 7,000 volumes; exhibition and sale catalogs; video, sound recordings and special collections pertaining to Salvador Dali’s work, his life, and other artists as well as genres related to Surrealism and the Avant-garde. Applied research is conducted by the Museum staff specifically related to exhibitions and art history publications. The result of this research includes wall labels and text panels, exhibition brochures and educational material for docents.

Shaina Buckles Harkness, the Dali Museum’s Librarian, has offered to meet with members to tell us a little about the collection and services they offer. The library is rather small so she can only accommodate a maximum of 15 people. We will sign up the first 15 SIS members to RSVP for Shaina's presentation and tour. Members only please, no guests for the library visit.

AGENDA:

5:00 pm - Museum doors open for evening rates ($10.00)

6:00 - 8:00 pm - Exploration of the Dali Museum
